東京廚房 Tokyo Kitchen @ Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway

I visited this restaurant very long time ago but never revisit due to its relatively higher price compared to most of the chain Japanese restaurant like Sushi Zanmai, Sushi Tei and etc. It's not really expensive or perhaps I should say the others are cheap. Until recently I saw deal on Groupon so I decided to give it another try.

Flower Love (5pcs) RM16.80
-Raw Salmon with Vinegared Rice Mayonnaise & Shrimp Roe

I don't know should I call it sushi or sashimi, or neither. It's actually 5 thin slices of salmon sashimi wrapping rice, and topped with mayonnaise and shrimp roe. I ate slice by slice and the last slice with the rice = sashimi + sushi haha. The salmon is ok. Actually nothing special except the name and the appearance.

-Fried Tiger Prawn Cucumber Roll Topped with Unagi, Mango, Shrimp Roe and Peanut Sauce

A special maki of Tokyo Kitchen, combining two of my favorite (unagi & fried tiger prawn) into one. Appearance is undeniable nice and attracting me. Their in house peanut sauce is surprisingly matches perfectly with the maki. Everything is fine, but just that the unagi is sliced too thin. Else it will be perfect.

Creamy Green Tea RM6.80

Green tea milk with grass jelly. Taste normal, not sweet. It's a kinda healthy choice for drink.

The tableware, decoration and design are all full of Japanese authenticity. They really put a lot of effort on the design of restaurant besides food.

They were awarded as the Best Japanese Restaurant of The Year 2012/2013. Besides that, they were also once featured at a 8TV's programme Ho Chak.

Overall I think the ambiance is very good. Their staff are also polite and friendly. Food taste not bad but the price is still relatively higher among chain Japanese restaurant.
