Just Seafood @ Sunway Giza Mall, Kota Damansara 

Recently I saw many people is sharing about this restaurant only I realized I left out this blog since few months ago. Just Seafood is strategically located at the center of Sunway Giza Mall. Most of the people might think: "Oh seafood, steam it!". Actually seafood is perfect to be barbecued too. It brings up another kind of fragrance of seafood, but at the same time maintaining the taste of seafood itself. Don't worry to get the whole body full of the smoke smell from BBQ because everything is done in the kitchen and served to you at the table.

Diners can choose sitting al fresco or indoors. I personally think that al fresco seating is much better with the music from the bars surrounding. Not sure if upstairs is for function purpose or what, it was closed during my visit.

I actually get to know about this restaurant at Groupon, but people who always visit Sunway Giza should notice the existence of it and give it a try. Seven of us shared one tiger prawns and one lobster platter. The portion of each platter should be enough for 3-4 pax.

Let's look at the upper layer first !

On the upper layers are all shellfish likes oysters, mussels, scallops, clams and snails. I think that the clams and scallops are superb and fresh, especially the orange part of the scallops. The clams are cooked to just right, with the flesh is still juicy inside. I'm not oysters lover but the oysters are indeed fresh too. The oysters are topped with some cheese but it would be better if the cheese is more. The only one that I don't like is the snails. I personally think it's not suitable to be barbecued because of its strong smell. Snails are usually fried with lots of seasoning or spices.

Have a look at the lower layer of the platter, there is prawns, squid, slipper lobsters, flower crabs and giant tiger prawns (for giant tiger prawns option, or lobster). I can tell that freshness is the key for good seafood. The seafood here are all so fresh that you don't even need to travel so far to seaside or port to have fresh seafood. Look at the prawns, it's quite big and the flesh is firm. I hate to eat prawns that is soft or fleshless. I also very like the squid, very well seasoned, chewy but not too tough. The only drawback is that the lobster is overcooked, causing the flesh become tough. What a waste of lobster.

Sauce Bar

It's seldom to see so many dipping sauces to eat with seafood. Just Seafood serves 9 types of of sauces to match with taste buds of different people. 8 out of 9 types of sauces are chili sauce, and one sweet and sour sauce to care about children too.

Various Sauces

I personally like the Assam Chili, Pineapple Chili, Thai Seafood Chili and Mustard Chili. The Pineapple Chili is quite refreshing, appetizing and kinda new for me. Among all, the Red Hot Chili and Belacan Chili is more spicy. Actually fresh seafood is just perfect to eat without any sauce, but if you prefer some extra sauce, just go ahead with whatever sauce you like. I believe that there must be at least one that suits you out of the 9 sauces.

If you don't feel filling with only seafood, they also serve come carbs food, like spaghetti and fried rice. The Crab Meat Fried Rice is quite Chinese style I can say. It's quite fragrance, taste good, portion is generous and the price is fair too. The only drawback is that the rice is too moist, perhaps is freshly cooked rice. If you prefer western cuisine, then can go for their spaghetti. The portion of Spaghetti Seafood Marinara is quite big too.

Lemongrass Pandan Cooler

This drink is also included in the deal from Groupon. I don't know how much is it on the menu. They claim that lemongrass is actually very good for our health, such as detoxify our kidney, liver, pancreas, digestive tract and bladder, maintains healthy cholesterol level, strengthen immune system, kill cancer cells and cure stomach disorder.

They also have some other seafood and many other kinds of cooking methods beside barbecued seafood, like fresh oysters, mud crabs, cockles, barramundi. You can check out more photos at their Facebook page. It's also a great place to grab some beer too if you are not into seafood.

I think the ambiance is nice, windy at the al fresco seating. Service is good, the boss and staff are friendly. The seafood are very fresh. The most important thing is that the price is quite reasonable.
