Taste Gallery @ Bandar Mahkota Cheras

I have moved to Bandar Sungai Long due to the relocation of UTAR from Setapak to Bandar Sungai Long. After I moved to here, I started to hunt food around this area. I found a cafe, Taste Gallery which is listed in top 10 restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. This cafe is also recommended by my other friends here.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras is a very crowded area, especially during lunch and dinner hours because there is too many restaurants at this area. So getting a parking is a problem here. 

The ambiance here is considered not bad, though not superb because it's just an ordinary cafe. Anyway it's really a good choice to have a quick lunch or even have a chit-chat session at anytime with comfortable air-conditioning here. I have been visiting here for a few times.

Charcoal Hawaii Burger RM13.80
-Thick Slice Thigh Grill Chicken, Chicken Ham, Pineapple, Lettuce, Tomato

During my first visit, I ordered a Charcoal Hawaii Burger. It's a grilled chicken thigh burger in a charcoal bun, with chicken ham and pineapple. The chicken is grilled to right, with nice tenderness. The piece of pineapple also gives extra juiciness to the overall texture and reduce the greasiness. Indeed it's a great combination. The burger is also served with generous portion of fries.

Carbonara Pasta RM13.90

I also tried my favorite pasta - Carbonara Pasta. Well, it didn't disappoint me. It's served in thick and creamy carbonara sauce with ham and mushroom. The quality is comparable to those in restaurants, but it costs me only RM13.90 at here.

Charcoal California Burger RM17.80
-Double Crispy Cutlet Fish, Double Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato

During my second visit, I tried their Charcoal California Burger. This time, the burger disappointed me because the taste of the fish cutlet is rather bland. Actually dory fish itself is tasteless, so a good seasoning is a must for dory fish. They didn't do well in this aspect. Else the whole thing would be nice.

Charcoal Hollywood Burger RM18.80
-Double Homemade Juicy Beef Patties, Double Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato

I tried the Charcoal Hollywood Burger during the third visit. This burger is not bad and I will revisit for it because the patties are juicy. The thing that I worry the most when I order a beef burger is getting a dry patty, but this one ok. Actually there's a lot of other food other than burgers but these burgers look just tempting for me haha.

Menu

They provide a wide range of choices on menu. Besides burgers, they also serve steak, cheese baked rice, asian food, and etc.

Set Lunch Menu

The price of set lunch is so affordable starting from only RM7.80 which comes with a glass of drinks and a scoop of ice cream. Honestly speaking, maybe having a lunch at normal kopitiam or mamak cost even more than this. (Set lunch for pasta cost RM11.80 onward)

Overall, the taste of food here are still satisfying, but I found that the taste of most of the food here are rather bland. I personally prefer strong taste food, else the food here are very good. The portion of food is also quite big. Pricewise, this is definitely a nice place to visit, especially for budget meal.
