Mr. Dakgalbi @ PV128, Setapak

Mr. Dakgalbi @ PV128, Setapak

As I mentioned in the previous post, Korean cuisine is growing very rapidly since few years back due to the great responses in the market, especially from the youngster. Mr.Dakgalbi is another Korean restaurant in PV128, Setapak. This is the fifth branch of Mr.Dakgalbi. For its namesake, Mr.Dakgalbi is specializing in serving "Dakgalbi" which is a stir-fried marinated chicken with rice cake and various vegetables originated from Chuncheon, Korea.

The interior design is not bad. The ambiance is quite cozy, but be prepared to get the whole body full of the oily smell after meal.
Coleslaw
Kimchi
They don't serve a lot of side dishes but only coleslaw and kimchi.

The Dakgalbi is not so authentic compared to other Dakgalbi restaurant because it added the choices of seafood in the menu. Single portion of normal Dakgalbi priced at RM19, with Octopus added RM23. We 3 person ordered a 2 person set which comes with 2 portions of Dakgalbi, 1 Ramen, 1 Fried Rice, 1 portion of Cheese. Then side ordered a portion of Octopus at RM12.
Dakgalbi 2 portions
It includes marinated chicken in gochujang (korean red pepper paste), rice cake, cabbage, spring onion, sweet potato. The portion of rice cake and sweet potato is quite less though. When frying, the staff will cover the side of the pan with a layer of iron to prevent the oil from spatter to us.
Lettuce
Ramen

I didn't capture the photo of the octopus, but one portion of RM12 should be around a palm size.

Fried Rice
Cheese
When you are almost done, let the staff know and he will fry the rice for you with whatever that's left on the pan and cut into smaller pieces. And of course not to forget about the cheese. The portion of cheese is too less though. It would be great if the cheese is more.

Overall, the ambiance is not bad. The taste is not so good compared to Uncle Jang and a few Dakgalbi that I tried before. The spiciness is just right but the sweetness is a little bit over. The portion of rice cake and sweet potato is also disappointingly lesser than expected.

All items are subject to 10% Service Charge.

P.S I asked if there is discount for students, and the staff deducted RM5 for me.
