KyoChon 1991 is located @ Level 1, Pavilion. There is 1991 in the name is because it has been established since 1991 in Korea. "Kyo" literally means enlightenment/wisdom and "Chon" means village. It has more than 1000 restaurants worldwide and there is 3 branches in Malaysia. 

Salsal Strips 12pcs RM30

Salsal Strip is boneless chicken breast strips coated with special rice batter and deep fried. It has 3 sauces to choose from - Jambalaya, Red Spicy and Honey Mustard. I'm not sure is ordering ala carte will come with all 3 sauces. My friends ordered set meal comes with all 3 sauces though. Actually the chicken strip itself is quite tasteless, it's mainly depending on the dipping sauces. I personally prefer the Honey Mustard sauce.

There are 3 series of fried chicken served : Original Soy Series, Red Series and Honey Series. Each series you can choose either wing or drumstick.

Red Series Wingette & Drumette 8pcs RM16

If you are ever ordering Korean fried chicken, I think Red Series is a must-order choice because Korean fried chicken is famous with its spicy sauce. This dish is quite special, because you will first taste only the sweetness and you might think: "Oh, that's it, not spicy at all". But the spiciness will come after the sweet and the spiciness will keep lasting inside the mouth and numbs your tongue. Spicy lover definitely like this.

Original Soy Series Wingette & Drumette 8pcs RM16

The Original Soy Series is comparatively more normal compared to Red Series. Unlike the Red Series, this is more salty and fragrance.

Honey Series Wingette & Drumette 8pcs RM18

Looks like fried banana fritter? It's Honey Series Wingette & Drumette. Besides Red Series, this is also one of my favorite. The sweetness is just right and not greasy. Unlike the other 2 series, the batter of Honey Series is thicker, just like fried banana fritter batter and maybe that's why the price is a little bit higher than other 2 series.

Red Series Drumstick 2pcs RM10

After trying all the three series, I also tried the Drumstick in Red Series. Well, I would say wingette & drumette are still better because the size is smaller and so it's more tasteful. 

Kimchi Fried Rice RM9.90

I also ordered a bowl of Kimchi Fried Rice. It's quite poor because it's too moist and lack of fragrance. The portion is also very small. Definitely won't order again. 

After eating, there is a few issues that come to my mind: Oh the chicken is so small and it's so pricey! I found the answer at FAQ section of their website recently. Well at least not only me that think about that.

Do your chickens work out a lot? They look small and lean.

No, it's probably down to their healthy diet and age. Unlike others, we use younger chickens that are 30 – 35 days old for that juicy, tender succulence. Older chickens have more muscle tissue and when cooked, taste tougher. We also use far less batter than other chicken restaurants.

Why so pricey?

We're a full service restaurant (not fast food) and we use only the freshest, best quality, imported ingredients. For example, our chicken is fried using canola oil – the most expensive cooking oil – because it is better for your heart and your health.

It feels like I'm hatching an egg. Why is the waiting time so long?

All orders are prepared fresh. It takes about 15-20 minutes for a meal to reach your table and it comes hot from our kitchen. We don't pre-cook meals, neither do we keep our chicken in a heated cabinet for up to 30 minutes like other chicken restaurants do. Every item on our menu is made with love and attention to detail.

Taking a closer look and found out that it's actually arranged with photos of Lee Min Ho 李民浩 because he is the spokesperson of KyoChon. He is a very famous Korean artist. I think those who knows K-Pop definitely will know him. Forgive my ignorance for not knowing him.

GOOD food is always BETTER when eating with bunch of BEST friends. 

Overall I think the interior is well designed with modern element but the crowd is a little pack. The serving speed is slow as mentioned in the FAQ. Tastewise and pricewise, I think it's good but I personally prefer the fried chicken of BBQ Chicken.
